Please let me know if you know of a vertex painting tool outside of this list. And modo is too much of a pain without native support in Unity. However, I'd rather not use vertex colors at all than use Maya, Cinema 4D, Lightwave, Houdini, or Windows. * I'm not opposed to trying another tool. Is there any possible way to do the kind of combining I'm suggesting, with this in mind? Is there a better way?* Coat 3ds Max Blender Clip Studio Paint Houdini Keyshot LightWave 3D Manga Studio. So in those cases, although it doesn't show up as such in Blender, you actually get duplicated vertices, with different colors. You might be able to paint vertex colors onto the model inside your 3D. This allows you to easily create sharp edges in your vertex colors, which can be good to section off areas or draw vector shapes. If the colors match for the same vertex, on all connecting faces, you don't have a "seam". However, Blender actually stores the color data per face. If it were a simple matter of storing color per vertex, I might be able to just match the colors array from one mesh to another (they would be the same mesh aside from colors - same as what's in the node diagram). Animated Sculpting/Painting, Game Development Modeler Enhancements, Improved FBX Interchange, Mac & Windows Compatible. There's just no way I can see to export this kind of thing, and I haven't thought of any other possibility yet, if one might exist. So I have no problem generating the data in Blender itself, for viewing in Blender. Blender converts an RGB image to grayscale when you insert a node into a grayscale receptacle. RGB and Alpha are two different vertex color sets, which are RGB - the only option. In Blender itself, I can use this node system. However, as a Blender user, I have no way to directly generate their alpha channel. I want to start using them more and better in my work. A few of my recent posts here have been about vertex colors.
